Mr. Jimmy R. McMullan, 78, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Monday, December 1, 2014, at Lake Pointe Assisted Living In Hartwell, Georgia.. Jimmy was born in Elbert County on July 10, 1936 to the late Jim Martin and Lessie Greenway McMullan. He is survived by his loving wife Vivian Craft McMullan, his precious bride for over 55 years. Jimmy served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1965 and worked for BellSouth where he retired as an electronic technician. Jimmy is also survived by his children: Gary McMullan and his wife Ann, of Buford, and Freda McMullan Stewart and her husband, Jack, of Cumming; his grandchildren: Mark Wilson, Sara, Amanda and Matthew Stewart; brothers: Hubert (Sybil) McMullan of Elberton, Donnie (Phyllis) McMullan of Mc Donough; sisters: Wilene Brady, Sara (Jack) Durham, Bobbie Hall and Nita Brown all of Elberton: many loving nieces and nephews and special friend Joe Glaze of Elberton. Mr. Emory Joe Anderson, Sr., 81, of Heard Drive, Elberton, husband of Betty Gober Anderson, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Anderson was born in Elbert County on December 1, 1933, to the late Raymond Joe and Ruby Ruth Floyd Anderson. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a member of Philomathea Masonic Lodge. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Betty Gober Anderson of Elberton; children: Emory Joe Anderson, Jr. of Braselton and Debra Cook of Snellville; grandchildren: Justin, Jeremy, Katie, Krista, Jacob, and Corey; and sister, Rebecca Mercer Sigman her husband Tom of Elberton. Mr. Robert Francis McAuliffe went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 30, 2014, in Ventura, California. Mr. McAuliffe was born to Jeremiah Joseph McAuliffe and Bessie Mae Beardsley McAuliffe on October 31, 1920 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Bob married the love of his life, Pauline Polizzo, on November 22, 1941. They were married for 73 years. Bob served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Bermuda. He was a carpenter by trade and built the huts that were shipped overseas for his fellow soldiers. His other capacity in the Army there in Bermuda was the first line of defense for the USA. In addition to his wife, Pauline, Bob is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Jacquelyn and James Tomlinson of Camarillo, CA, and Bobbi and Morris Butler of Dewy Rose; grandchildren: Gerri Tomlinson of Camarillo, CA, Jennifer Tomlinson of Elberton, Douglas (and Rachel) Butler of Kennesaw, and Elizabeth (and Tony) Jackson of Monroe. He also leaves behind 3 great-grandchildren: Samantha and Jackie Butler of Kennesaw, and James Jackson of Monroe. Mrs. Carolyn Christine Rousey Johnson, 66, of Pine Hill Drive, Elberton, husband of Jerry L. Johnson, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson was born in Madison County on June 8, 1948, to the late Floyd and Lucy Smith Rousey. She was retired from Northeast Georgia Bank having worked as a teller and was of the Baptist faith. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jerry L. Johnson of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin “Fluff” and Dana Johnson and Keith Johnson, all of Elberton; one grand-daughter, Carmen Johnson; one step-grandchild, Blake Turner of Elberton; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Alice Dickerson, Henry Rousey, Ida Ruth Coker, Harvey Rousey, and Joe Rousey. Mr. Scarborough was born in Elbert County on May 15, 1937, to the late Henry L. Scarborough, Sr. and Fannie Mae Bell Scarborough. He was a retired used car salesman. Steve was a member of Elberton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he served as an Elder. Mr. Hubbard was born in the Goosepond Community of Oglethorpe County on January 26, 1940, to the late Ruffin and Nelle Thornton Hubbard. He was a salesman for 20 years having worked with Weatherly Furniture Company and was a self-employed appliance repairman. He also served as Constable for Elbert County Magistrate Judge and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Ernestine “Tenny” Gunter Hall, age 79, of Hickory Drive, Elberton, wife of 29 years to the late William Arthur Hall, ended her journey of life on Saturday, December 27, 2014, to be in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Born on February 15, 1935, in Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lucy Mae Smith Gunter.
